differences and similarities for the chicago cubs and chicago white sox?
im doing a compare and contrast essay and it has to be on something in chicago. i chose the chicago cubs and the chicago white sox…can anyone give me any ideas on the differences and similarities between the two…anything will help…please and thank you everyone.
Similarities:
Both have aggressive people in front office and managing their ball club.
Both Play Major league Baseball
Both made the playoffs this year.
Both lost in the first-round of the playoffs this year.
Both have won their division twice in past 5 years
Both have been playing baseball for over 100 years.
Both have had periods of at least 80 years of not winning World Series.
Both have had periods of at least 45 years of not playing in World Series.
Both have some fans who regard the other teams and fans in a very poor light.
The majority of both teams vocal fan base assert that you cannot like both teams.
Differences:
White Sox play in American League, Cubs play in National League.
Cubs are only team in major leagues to play the majority of their home games during the day.
White Sox have won World Series in past 5 years, Cubs have not won it since 1908 and not been in it since 1945.
White Sox have had significantly better winning percentage and number of winning seasons in past 25 years.
Cubs home attendace over the same time frame has generally been higher than the White Sox.
Cubs have lost their last 9 consecutive playoff games, Sox are 6-3 over the same amount of games.
