Math question help????????????
Xian and his cousin both collect stamps. Xian has 56 stamps and his cousin has 80 stamps. Both have recently joined different stamp-collecting clubs. Xian’s club will send 12 new stamps per month, while his cousin’s club will send him 8 new stamps per month.]
So i worked out the problem and everything and i got (6)
But theres two questions that I have to asnwer and i dont really know what to put..
after how many month will xian and his cousin have the same number of stamps?
&&
How many stamps will they each have?
m = number of months
xian = 12m – 56
cousin = 80 – 8m
12m – 56 = 80 – 8m
20m = 136
m = 34/5 = 6.8 months
after 6.8 months, xian and his cousin will have the same number of stamps.
xian = 12m – 56 = 12(6.8) – 56 = 81.6 – 56 = 25.6
cousin = 80 – 8m = 80 – 8(6.8) = 80 – 54.4 = 25.6
they will each have 25.6 stamps. now that silly, bc you cant have .6 of a stamp. so you’ll need to round up for your answer.
xian = 12m – 56 = 12(7) – 56 = 28
cousin = 80 – 8m = 80 – 8(7) = 24
