Hand Gun
What is a good beginner hand gun for a very small woman?
I’m looking into learning to shoot and buying a hand gun for home self-defense. I’m only 4’11″ and 100 lbs. with child-sized hands (I have to wear children’s gloves b/c woman’s small is too big). I need a gun that would fit my hands, have recoil I can handle but have killing power. Thanks for any suggestions!
I would go with either a 4″ revolver (snubbies may have too much kick).

With smaller hands there are limited number of choices for a smaller handle (grip, sorry) and lower recoil caliber.
Your best bet is to go to a local range or gun shop and pick up and get a feel for as many handguns as possible. The one that fits best is the one that you will shoot best. If you have a chance to rent a firearm at a range do so. Get a feel for calibers. .38special for a revolver, .380 or 9mm or a semi-auto. .22 calibers are great for plinking, learning and stuff but do not make a good defensive round against a 250 pound intruder.
