Do You Suspect Blackwater Fueled The Idea For Clive Cussler’s Oregon Files?
Clive Cussler has a series of books called the Oregon Files. Basically, the crew of a ship named the Oregon are guns for hire. However, these fictitious characters are good men with guns. And speaking of good guys with guns, here is a little bit about some heavy real-life characters who take care of business when things get a little grimy and out of hand. I give you a little information about the group from Blackwater.
Not a lot is known about the secret group named the Blackwater Mercenaries, or Blackwater, USA. Brutal but efficient, these men and women bring justice to those people targeted by guns for hire. A life-style that embraces savagery, and does so in the name of our government. In the last few days Blackwater, USA has been through many changes,eg a new owner for the company and even a new identity, Xe Services.
Blackwater, USA was developed in 1997, by Erik Prince and partner Al Clark, as a personal army business. Now the organisation is the leader as the biggest of the U.S. State Dept’s 3 personal security contractors. Some of their activities include security services in Iraq to help assist the United Nation’s federal government. The present President and the whole Obama Administration honoured Xe Services with 1/4 of a million dollar contract for their services with both the state Dep. and CIA in Afghanistan. Though Mr. Prince and Mr. Clark sold the business, Xe Services, LLC. still contributes work throughout the United States.
Prince stated in the making of his corporation, “We are attempting to do for state security apparatus what FedEx did for the Postal Services.” After the bombing of the USS Cole in October of 2000, Blackwater secured their first contract and was tasked to train over 100,000 sailors safely. Now, Blackwater’s mission is to provide training for army support and law enforcement affiliations.
The U. S. has utilized the corporation for many uses. Blackwater was among the few personal parties selected to assist in the capture of the famous Osama bin Laden as well as the Iraq invasion. They will also be answerable for the steerage of the new Iraqi police and league forces.
The results of hurricane Katrina left many devastating stories from which grew the need for the expertise supplied by Xe Services which was appointed by Homeland Security. Their desires were also wanted by non-public clients, including but not limited to communications, petrochemical and insurance corporations.
Formerly known as Blackwater Training Facility, the U. S. Training Center also offers methods in weapons and army training. This vast facility lays on 7000 acres of land in the northeast of North Carolina. Nov of 2006, the group declared that it also obtained an 80-acre facility about 150 miles west of Chicago, which may be titled Blackwater North. This actual location has been in operation since April 2007 and serves law enforcement agencies round the Midwest. The company removed their request to set up another facility in San Diego County due to heated opposition from locals.
