Boxing Or MMA Which Is The Better Sport?
First off, what’s your definition of an athlete? A sports figure is somebody trained or gifted in exercises or contests concerning physical agility, staying power, strength, and mental capability in an athletic activity. So who’s the better athlete a mixed martial artist or fighter? This is a tricky question just because they’re 2 different sports. It’s like asking who’s better, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Ali, or Honey Ruth? In my judgment, I suspect that a mixed martial artist is a better athlete or MMA as it’s become famous as.
My reasoning for that is that mixed martial artists need to train in many varying styles of fighting, including boxing. There is just far far more styles to learn, for example judo, kick boxing, kung-fu, nin-jitsu, muay thai, tae kwon do, and the list keeps growing. The far more informed and well-rounded boxer you are in the numerous self-defense skills, the better fighter you will be in MMA. That’s why it is known as “mixed martial arts.” Boxing does not include on-the-ground techniques, kicks, and grappling. It is all fists (with thicker gloves than MMA), standing, above the belt fighting. Don’t misunderstand what I’m saying, I like boxing. It too , includes well rounded athletes, but it seems to me it is typically all about Endurance, particularly boxing today.
Where did all of the great fights go with the pure knockouts, by folk like Ali and Tyson in his prime? Who want to see a winner decided by judges? No one. That barely occurs in MMA. Folk want to see a knockout or a tap out with an undisputable winner. I myself know a street fighter turned boxer turned MMA boxer. He was hunting for much more of a real challenge. He fights locally and latterly had his first fight in MMA over in the States and said the coaching is more intense and he has learned plenty far more. His record in boxing is 35-1 and MMA is 1-0. Look him up on you tube “Chris Lozano MMA,” he’s going to blow up in a few years I guarantee it.
Anyway he is the perfect example of why a mixed martial artist is a better sportsman, it is just harder. You’ll never see a pro fighter get in the cage with a mixed martial artist or a MMA go 12 rounds in the ring with a fighter. In the final analysis, I still suspect that a mixed martial artist is the better athlete given the two totally different sports. MMA is just more physical and there is so much more you can do and learn.
You have to be silly if you think mixed martial-arts is not a “Real” sport. It’s been about for centuries and it is just lately becoming highly popular these past a few years. It is one of the swiftest growing sports around. If MMA is not thought to be a sport I do not believe nothing should be. MMA may be the most physically demanding sport around.
MMA fighters need to be focused or they will get hurt. It is far more physical than boxing, football, Rugby, and tennis so why should it not be considered to be a real sport? It would like strength, speed, staying power, and supplements for focus. A sport is an athletic activity requiring capability and/or physical capability of a competitive nature. MMA is that and so very much much more. I’m essentially surprised that MMA isn’t considered a “REAL” sport to a few individuals. I had no clue that folk thought that. I want one of them to help me understand why they do not suspect MMA is a real sport just because that blows my mind and they obviously haven’t a clue what it takes both mentaly & physicaly to become an MMA sportsman.
