Polar 2012 And Other Doomsday Scenarios – What Do We Expect
Catastrophes, according to the claims of amateur and experts alike, are abound to occur in 2012. Polar 2012 or polar shift, a rare planetary alignment, a collision with a rogue planet, and other apocalyptic predictions are said to end mankind’s existence, or as other say the world as we know it now, in the very very near future.
Apocalyptic Polar Shift
Contrary to what non-experts believe, the massive land and ice masses of North and South Poles are not static. In fact, much of the Earth’s crust moves constantly. What is so interesting about this actual phenomenon is that when this happens suddenly, continents will be displaced and extreme climate changes will occur overnight. 780,000 to 790,000 years ago, the last pole shift happened, scientists fear that we are on the verge of the next pole shift

Mayan Predictions According to the Long Calendar
Much of the current debates about the end of the world are based on the 5000-year cycle Mayan Long Calendar. Based on this calendar, the winter solstice of 2012 which falls on December 21 is the end of the 5000-year long cycle. To the likely excitement of end of the world prophecy believers, this date could be the end of the world.
Rogue Planet Collision
Recently, NASA has discovered a planetary body called Eris which has been observed to orbit the Sun. Although Eris’s location is three times farther than that of Pluto, fanatics of the Planet X theory believe that this is the Planet Nibiru that will come close to Earth soon and cause destabilization in the Earth’s gravitational pull and electromagnetic field. Some believers even go as far as theorizing that Eris will collide with the Earth.
Despite NASA’s claim that Eris is unlikely to come near the orbit of the Earth, fanatics still accept this possibility. Other theories about the Planet X include a collision with an asteroid similar in size with the one that had caused the extinction of dinosaurs and one that is large enough to cause the Earth to tilt on its axis.
Sun-Earth-Center Of The Milky Way Alignment
While planetary alignments are ordinary phenomenon in the Universe, fanatics of doomsday prophecies believe these spell something graver. If Nostradamus and his predictions were to be believed, this galactic alignment signals the end of the world as we know it and signals a new beginning for mankind.

In 2012, the current solar cycle will come to its end. While this cycle has been going on for eons of years, the cycle remains to post significant risks to Earth because of its inconsistent flare up. Scientists believe that if the coming solar flares will be stronger than usually, these could wreak havoc to Earth and destroy it at a massive scale.
Say that all these are true, many people postulate the belief that we should start to get ready this very early? Whatever the tragedy that awaits us, whether it’s the predicted polar 2012, the cataclysms prophesied by Nostradamus or other recent scientific-based catastrophes, one thing is for sure, something is going to happen and we better get prepared.
