The United States Air Force Museum Air Force Museum Is A Must See Visit
The United States Air Force Museum Air Force museum is the world’s biggest military museum of aviation as well as the national museum of the U. S. Air Force. It is the ongoing mission of the U. S. Air Force to present its history as well as its evolving capabilities.
Explaining the history of flight, the Air Force museum is an attraction that is internationally well-known.
Featuring more than 300 aircraft, in addition to many aerospace vehicles in over 17 acres of indoor air and space exhibits, the museum gladly welcomes more than 1. 2 million visitors a year.
The museum features galleries that connect today’s Space Age all the way back to the Wright brothers era.
The museum employs sensory exhibits, to tell the Air Force story as well as educational programs and many special events.
While highlighting virtues such as courage, innovation, and duty, the Air Force honors its men and women.
The Air force museum is located in the town where the Wright brothers lived and invented the airplane; Dayton, Ohio.
Four gigantic hangar buildings at Dayton’s Wright-Patterson Air Force Base house the collection of displays. The museum is a must see, whenever you get to Dayton.
Even if you just have a slight interest in aircraft, NASA, or the military, you will certainly have a wonderful time. A visitor with a strong interest in aviation can easily spend two days exploring the vast museum.
And you cannot beat the price of admission, because it is always free.
There are all natures of airplanes to be seen, starting with the very first bi-planes, from every era in history.
The museum uses both chronological and subjective displays to tell the arousing story of years of aviation development.
You can see exhibits that include missiles and assorted aircraft, including the SR-71 spy-plane, the X-15 (history’s fastest and highest flying aircraft), and the famed Stealth fighter.
The museum also displays personal memorabilia including uniforms, photographs and thousands of other Air Force artifacts.
Prisoner of War history is the theme of one of the more popular of the exhibits in the museum.
Homemade items crafted by WWII prisoners in prison camps, ranging from fitness exercise equipment to mousetraps, are displayed in this exhibit.
You might also find in corners of the museum, Air Force issued cooking utensils, bugles and Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
If a 5 piece drum set or an Ibanez acoustic electric guitar had ever been used by our Air Force, they certainly would have them here.
A marvelous excursion for the entire family, this incredible museum is an excessively interesting place to visit.
